Women from all over the Middle East are speaking up – for education, safety, equality, for their freedom of speech. They come from Palestine, Israel, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Morocco, Algeria and Sudan, but they are united in commitment to be the voice of the voiceless.
Feminists and women’s rights activists, all alumni of the YaLa Academy’s Aileen Getty School of Citizen Journalism, share with us powerful personal stories in order to highlight the commonalities of the struggles, triumphs and hopes of women fighting for gender equality across the Middle East.
