It’s not the fist time the Lebanese protest in streets, Lebanon is different from the other Arab countries, in Lebanon people can vote freely but the problem is with their political system. The Lebanese say they had the first revolution in the Arab world before Tunisia, when they kicked the Syrian army out of Lebanon in 2005 in what’s called the Cedar Revolution This time, The demonstrations were triggered late Thursday when Prime Minister Saad Hariri’s government unveiled austerity measures that included a plan to place a tax on calls made via WhatsApp. The demonstrators are demanding a sweeping overhaul of Lebanon’s political system, Last Friday, Saad Hariri gave a 72-hour deadline to his partners in government to agree on a solution to the country’s economic woes without imposing new taxes. Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, whose movement is part of the government, warned on Saturday that a change in government would only worsen the situation. The army on Saturday called on protesters to “express themselves peacefully without harming public and private property”.
